Astaldi Group boasts numerous international awards for the design precision, technological content and construction quality of its works.

2008 MetroRail Best Metro in the world

The Copenhagen Underground, built as part of a joint venture with other leading international operators, was judged the “best in the world” at the MetroRail Conference attended by leading names in the sector. The reasons for this award were the frequency and reliability of the service, thanks to the line being fully automated, and the high level of passenger satisfaction.

2007 European Transport (Light Rail) Deal of the Year

The project finance initiative to construct and manage Line 5 of the Milan Underground won the “Deal of the Year 2007” international award in the “Europe Transport Light Rail” category at the Euromoney Project Finance Award Ceremony, one of the most accredited international award ceremonies in the sector.

2007 International Architecture Award

The award organised by the Chicago Athenaeum is aimed at selecting the works that stand out for their design excellence. The New Expo Fair Centre in Milan was praised for its innovation, the use of new materials and the focus given to environmental impact.

2006 ULI Global Award

The ULI Global award is considered to be the most prestigious award at a global level as far as major architectural works and area transformations are concerned. The New Expo Fair Centre in Milan won both the European and international award for “having increased the city’s exhibition areas, freeing up traffic and providing the city with the capacity to compete at a global level”.

2005 PFI Awards EMEA PPP Deal of the Year

The new hospital in Mestre was named the project finance deal of the year in the Europe, Middle East and Africa area. It also won a second award as part of the PFI Awards 2005 as the best project finance deal in the healthcare sector in Europe.

1991 Ingersoll-Rand Italy

The Ingersoll-Rand award is given for civil merits and design innovation. The Concepción dam stands out for the fact that it allowed the dramatic water crisis in the city of Tegucigalpa in Honduras to be resolved in record time and limited costs. The plant’s technological content is also significant given that it was one of the first to be built using RCC, a technique in which Astaldi can boast considerable experience.

1989 Ingersoll-Rand Italy

The project won the prestigious award dedicated to major Italian works worldwide “for the high design, technical and organisational values to which the effects on an economic and social level are to be added”. Indeed, Karakaya dam was part of a highly important multi-year programme which led to doubling of hydroelectric energy production in Turkey in the space of a few years.

1975 Ingersoll-Rand Italy

The Inga dam which makes it possible to exploit the enormous amount of energy dispersed by the rapids of the River Zaire was praised for “its magnificence and exceptionality as well as for its highly civil aims related to the country’s development and the considerable knock-on effects at an industrial level”.
